Canon's G11 is the highest quality compact around. It has every manual feature an enthusiast would want and the the G11 is the latest version.Unusually, the Canon G11 has fewer megapixels than its predecessor (10 instead of 14.7) but those pixels are bigger, faster, and better in low light. It also now comes with a 2.8 inch flip out rotating screen at the back and a sharp 5X lens. It feels a bit plastic and bulky for a compact. It cannot match an SLR for quality and some buyers might lament not having a small compact for daily snapshots.
